William Kearney Phillips was born March 11, 1894, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He served as Chief of Staff to the Commander, Cruisers and Destroyers of the Pacific Fleet from August 1944 to October 1945, and as commander of the First Fleet from 1953 to 1955. Goodwin, H. H. (Hugh Hilton), 1900-1980

Hugh Hilton Goodwin was born December 21, 1900, Monroe, Louisiana. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in June 1922, and advanced through grades to the rank of rear admiral in April 1949. Goodwin died in February 1980, in Carmel, California.
